small packages
Sometimes the best things come in small packages. Jewellery, puppies, the Olsens – all great things, all little.
So needless to say the same should apply to a home. Design, in many definitions, is meant to be synonymous with functionality and beautiful aesthetics. A sprawling, grandiose space – tough to find anywhere in the UK or continental Europe without a few figures in the bank – isn’t necessary when smart, functional design is in it’s place. Like this 39 sq. meter home in Sweden. The space itself is well organized with a place for everything and everything in it’s place. There are so many space saving ideas here like the standard sofa swapped out for a modern chaise and even the smallest nooks are filled with storage shelves. I am particularly in love with the candles in the fireplace and the different style chairs around the dining table. Of course even a small space can be functionally filled with expensive mid-century pieces if you’re one of those said high rollers – but for the rest of us there is always Ikea with some of the most incredibly smart home solutions I have ever seen.
