all of the lights
Whoever got it into their heads that lighting is secondary in creating an interior space got it very very wrong. These gorgeous modern creations prove that sometimes, from the soft lighting for the corner table to the feature floor lamps your guests will ooh and ahh over, incredible lighting can entirely carry the room.
First, the Jar Lamp from London and Avignon based design office Noon Studio, founded by Gautier Pelegrin and Vincent Taïani, gives us a sleek, unobtrusive lamp prototype that allows you to control the light intensity with rotating lids that act as switches.
Second, the Beth floor lamp is made in a shiny aluminium cylinder structure with an angle cut, and features a touch dimmer.
Lastly, the Anisha table lamp is based around a halo of diffused light. “Like a fluid and enveloping frame, an irregular ellipse that gives a sense of becoming, Anisha outlines an empty space, defines it and fills it with its light, producing a magical sensation. Its plastic, dynamic shape generates multiple reflections on its surface and reveals its sculptural essence.” (via)

I WILL own some of these. Particularly the “Beth” floor lamp. I’m in such agreement with you about how lighting can carry a room and recently tried to find a modern lamp with interest that gave a bit more than just ambient light. It was so freakin’ hard!!!! These designs are edgy, streamlined, and a convo piece! Love’m. You have wondertastic taste.
