My declaration of love for Wim came with a bit of hesitation. At first glance they seem like any other dime a dozen indie ‘I-don’t-wash-my-hair-because-I’m-brilliant’ Australian export. And although time and time again I have fallen under the charms of unbelievable talent hailing from that country (read: The Naked and Famous), it sometimes gets a little predictable and I was beginning to get a little bored. Enter Wim.

There is something about their sound that hooks me and (here comes my brilliant ability to describe music) they seem to create a sound that proves that their whole is greater than the sum of its parts. For me it brings pop to where it used to be. At the risk of at least 3 people I know shunning me for saying so- a few of their songs remind me of the later Beatles stuff. Don’t worry, you don’t have to agree. Just have a listen.
